As someone whose parents both committed adultery, and someone whose husband committed adultery with her own cousin I have experienced all the pain and the ripple effects of this particular sin , seeing it affect my children in deep ways.
Their father married another woman a year later only to cheat on her also with my cousin after 13 years of their marriage has only one argument of defense : “I just want to be happy” … my children, in the meantime have their own families and are forced to navigate this now trying to protect their little ones.
I am still praying for both my Ex-husband and my cousin who I love deeply and lost once again over this sin … hoping that they one day will be led to repentance by the loving kindness of the Lord and be saved.
I have been pondering this episode of infidelity played out on the world stage a great deal over the past few days.
1) The potential thought process of the lady who published her recording is so interesting to me. Would this have been any and every person’s first instinct—to rat them out in a humiliating and public way? Should there have been a pause to think about the heartbreaking family repercussions of such a choice? Or did she think she had a duty as a stranger to them, to reveal their sin in such an enormous way?
2) Isn’t it interesting how a society that revels in and celebrates smutty novels, infidelity in movies, TV, music, etc, suddenly has such a right moral compass and public righteous indignation at the revelation of real sin. How can one justify participating in fictitious sin, yet cry foul when it happens in real life?
3) the CEO seems only upset that he was found out; but not repentant of his infidelity.
4) had the Kiss Cam forever been tainted to be the Coldplay Cam?
5) for the masses who do not believe in a Moral Law Giver, on what grounds do they say infidelity is wrong?

They hid their faces just like Adam and Eve when God was calling for them in the garden.
I had not heard that this happened. Good insight.
