The bio that no one likes to write.
Does anyone really like writing a bio about themselves? I mean, yes, there are those people who do, I’m sure, but I’m not one of them. So, I’ll make it simple.
First of all, I’m glad you’re here. My name is Rachel. I’m a 43-year-old Christian and history enthusiast, living in rural Virginia. I’m married to my high school sweetheart and we have four daughters. We both grew up in Southern California and lived there until about five years ago when we decided to uproot and move across the country.
I report the news on Instagram, infused with a lot of political talk.
In this space, I write more than two sentences. I did that for years when blogging was in its golden age but gave it up when social media ate all of our brains and convinced us that we couldn’t consume more than a short caption. I’ve decided that I’m reclaiming the art of writing and ushering in a renaissance of long-form commentary.
I’m glad you’re here for the ride.
Rachel
