Tales from a trip for the ages
Today started with a bit of panic. We made it down to our daily tube stop and were quietly waiting for our train when, all of a sudden, three loud noises in rather quick succession sounded from the other side of the tube. For a moment, nothing changed, and then suddenly, everyone started running and screaming. We watched as dozens of people, some with children in strollers, started charging in our general direction, and I had a moment of frozen fear. As a person who doesn’t flinch easily, I was slightly surprised by how very afraid I felt at that moment. I didn’t know if the sound I heard was a gun, something falling, the shouting of a large brawl, or something even more sinister. Sean commanded the situation and got us to a safe place, collapsed the stroller quickly, and had us ready to run in the event of an emergency.
