All eyes were on Capitol Hill this week, where there was a gaggle of confirmation hearings taking place (some at the same time, in different rooms.) We saw Senate Democrats (and Republicans, regrettably) fire on Kash Patel, Tulsi Gabbard, and RFKJr. in unison - we even saw a shouting match over baby onesies and more than 25 questions about a J6 choir performance.

It was….a lot.

And then, in the wee hours of Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, headlines swiftly and rightfully turned to a horrific plane/helicopter crash over the Potomac River. American Eagle Flight 5342, a Bombardier CRJ700 regional jet carrying 60 passengers and 4 crew members, collided mid-air with a U.S. Army UH-60L Black Hawk helicopter near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). It’s been heartbreaking watching the footage and learning of the victims (all on board both aircraft have died, but not all have been recovered.)

On Thursday afternoon, President Trump addressed the press (and the nation) in a conference and answered questions. I could have had 15 televisions on in my office, and I still wouldn’t have been able to keep up with all of the important issues that are currently impacting our country and its people.

Because of these highly consequential breaking stories and ongoing events, several things flew largely under the radar this week, and I’ve been asked about them. I thought I would bring several to your attention here. They are also worth knowing about and keeping an eye on.
