the calm before the storm

I joked with Sean over the weekend that the new cycle was too quiet. For all the hostile back-and-forth these campaigns have engaged in, I thought the days leading up to election day would be more eventful.

It’s been too calm.

And then it hit me. It’s the calm before the destruction starts. Or perhaps we are just in the eye of the storm; I can’t be sure.
