Good Friday morning, friends! It’s been a busy week, but it’s winding down, thank goodness. I’m looking forward to the weekend - we are butchering sheep (well, I’m not…my husband is…) and also having a relaxing day on Sunday with my girls. I hope the same for you - something refreshing!

Election of Pope Leo XIV
Yesterday, Cardinal Robert Prevost from Chicago was elected as Pope Leo XIV, becoming the first American to lead the Catholic Church. Did you watch it LIVE? I did! I set up the live stream in my bathroom while I was getting ready for datenight and it was exciting to watch this historic event.
Cardinal Robert Prevost from Chicago became the first American pope in the 2,000-year history of the Catholic Church. Prevost, a 69-year-old missionary who spent much of his career in Peru, was elected during a two-day conclave and is known for his social teachings and efforts to reconcile the Church with modernity. In his first address, he highlighted peace and paying tribute to Pope Francis, while The Guardian noted reactions from Americans in St. Peter’s Square, describing the event as “surreal” and “holy.”
